I am in the business of Dream Marketing. Helping connect people to their dreams is what the Hospitality is all about. I am currently in search for my next position in a Destination Marketing Organization.
Who am I?
I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina Hospitality and Tourism Management Program and an expert in Tourism and Hospitality. I have been a China and Korea expert, a tour guide, event planner, videographer, board member, bartender, editor, tweeter, designer, international traveler, space creator, services provider, sales person, volunteer manager and leader. I am able to study, survey and implement ideas to optimize a Destination Marketing and Management Organization’s strategy.
Why Tourism?
I am energized and find passion through the power of people. I learned early, while a tour guide, that in Tourism we encounter an abundant variety of people that are just happy, excited and looking for an experience. I am also encouraged that individual businesses that make up our community give me energy and excitement to work for them and make our shared community the best it can be.
For me, it’s about the experience. I find few things as gratifying as seeing a small business I work with featured in an international magazine or television show. There’s no greater feeling helping a first time visitor to my city see something iconic and experience something new and life changing all in the same day. I love working in an industry filled with people that find nothing more satisfying than helping someone make their trip a lifetime memory. Once you travel, explore and learn, it’s hard to build a wall to separate yourself from the outside world.
All this is done with a flare and willingness for storytelling. Being able to share our stories and communicate in a variety of ever-changing formats is something I excel in doing. Travelers have a growing willingness to be inspired in a consistently busy space. I have the ability to understand the best method to influence our future travelers.
